This gift of a pair of miniature phaeleonopsis gave me immediate inspiration. Sometimes I can time it as was the case here to make that space in time to paint. The flower faces turning here and there create wonderful movement — an opportunity to capture the rhythm of the delicate flower petals over the solid base of large leaves. The timing and the afternoon light in a sunny kitchen created a perfect ambiance for painting.
